Live Bloggin NLCS Game 2

Bottom of 5

Braun does the title belt for his pal Aaron Rodgers who is at the game from what Bill Michaels tweeted earlier.

Despite LaRussa bringing in the lefty, they appear to be pitching around Prince.  Odd.

Is Weeks still in this game?

Nights like this make me consider drinking

Bottom of 4

I am this close to turning on Monday Night Football.   Losing is one thing.  But looking utterly unprepared is another.  This is a sad display of baseball by the Brew Crew right now.

Prince doubles.  Weeks gets ahead.  Crowd is back in it.   WELCOME TO THE POST SEASON RICKIE WEEKS!

Even Front Row Amy liked that Home Run.  She looks nice tonight.  I wonder if she has a date to the game.

A rally isn't impossible, but they will need the crowd.  Yuni is being Yuni again.  First pitch swings.      Make me feel bad for hating you, Yuni,  I dare you.

There we go, Yuni,  I have an internal conflict.

LaRussa gets on the phone.   This could be big if they can get Jackson out of there.   Lucroy is extending this at-bat.    A walk brings in big Casey.

Lucroy gets the fielders choice, but there is a chance he can at least be brought in as a run.

Never mind.

Technically there is a lot of ball to be played yet.  They scored 6 in an inning last night.   Anything is possible.

Time to pull Marcum.

Bring in Estrada

Bottom of 3

Nice K, Hart.  Upft!

Nyjer, that wasn't very cool.   Looking like one of THOSE nights.

If you want to be cheered up a bit, flip over to see Cutler play some ball.

Top of 3

A lot of time left in this thing.  No time to panic, Crewnation.

Rangers just got a grand slam to walk-off win?  Damn!    Tigers have a tough task at hand to come back.  Detroit can at least hope the Lions get a win tonight.

Big Al might be a bit upset when he bats again. Nobody likes to look stupid out there.

I wonder what the giggling was about when TBS returned from commercial.

Tough drop by Plush.   The Cards are probably gushing over that.

What was Hairston thinking there?

Hart looks like the dirty hillbilly we always knew he was.

Hoo boy.         This is getting ugly.   I hate to admit it, but GoGo would have caught that.

A RICKIE WEEKS SIGHTING!!!!!

Bottom of 2

Just saw a preview for "Tower Heist".  I might have trusted the movie, but then Eddie Murphy showed his face.

Smotlz doesn't know what a hashtag is.   He shouldn't even joke about it.

Weeks looks weak with a fly out.  At some point, he is going to show up for a game.

Hairston was the right call over McGeHee, even if big Casey hit three homers on Edwin Jackson earlier this season.  I'd rather have the better defender.  And let's be honest, big Casey isn't going to replicate that feat... ever.

Jer-Hair does it again.  That's my boy!  Crowd is chanting JERRY JERRY JERRY.  I hope some trailer trash comes out of the bullpen to fight soon.

Yuni keeps getting hits as if they threatened to send his ass back to Cuba.  Good on him.  Maybe he'll be able to use this to find a new job in the off season.

Luc gets up  on a 3-0 count.  This is huge.   Real huge.  Let's see if he takes one here.   Nope.   Swing and a foul.   However, Marcum isn't about to be knocking runs in with bases loaded.  He might try a bunt.  The grand slam was a fluke.

Full Count.   By the time you read this, it will have happened.

Lucroy out.

Best moment of the night is a three stooges moment between Pujols and Molina.   How can they let that drop?

Top of 2

Quick out on Molina.  That is how we need it, boys.  Dial it in, Marcum.

Freese flies out.  Settling down is Marcum.  I can feel it now.

Punto with a pop fly.  For whatever reason, his name reminds me that it is Columbus Day.  I highly doubt Punto had anything to do with mass genocide of indigenous people.   Columbus probably had a better batting average though.

Bottom 1st

Quite the anti-dramatic inning thus far.  Hart flew out like you can expect him to.  Nyjer still isn't hitting like he ought to be.  The ump likes the low part of the strike zone.

Braunie gets on board.  My guess is that we'll see them pitch around Prince.  Now would be a good time for Weeks to show some interest.

Never mind.  He line smacked it into a line drive out.   He should have taken one pitch to get a feeling right there.

Top of 1st -Continued

It is a blessing that the game has started.  Brian Anderson is one of the best play by play guys in all of sports.  That and I don't have to listen to the pregame guys hate on the Brewers.  Dennis Eckersly is kind of a d-bag.

Marcum can't be walking people if he wants to settle this game down.   Berkman and Holliday are going to give him fits if he does this.   He has thrown way too many pitches already.  Might be a Narv-Dog/Estrada kind of night.

Never mind, A Strike 'Em Out, Thow 'em Out!   Nice stuff.  Glad to see that they can pull that off from time to time.  Unlike during the Kendall/Zahn years.

7:10 pm

Welcome everyone.  The first inning has just started.  Marcum got an out and then was duped on a bunt.  He looks a littler crisper than the other night... if that makes sense.  Pujols just jacked one.   HE is apparently dialed in today.   Someone needs to get Marcum a chill pill or else he is gonna get lit up like a Christmas tree  - one of the ugly ones with all blue lights.
